On August 11, 1938, he was united in marriage to Ruby Duey in Hebron, and to this marriage three children were born; Adella, Barbara and Rodney. He lived all his life in Thayer County and at the time of this (sic) death was a member of the United Methodist Church in Hebron. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Henry, and one sister, Evelyn. He is survived by his wife, Ruby, two daughters: Mrs. Charles (Adella) Thompson, Hobbs, N.M., and Mrs. Lyle (Barbara) Schmit of Fairbury, Neb., and one son, Rodney and his wife, Lou, of Fairbury, Neb. One sister, Mrs. Eugene (Clara) Ray of Chester, one brother, Herman Baloun of Belleville, Kan. and a sister-in-law, Gladys Baloun of Chester, 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were held on Friday, December 1, 1989 at 2 p.m. in the United Methodist Church in Hebron with the Rev. David Kelly officiating. Music was "In the Garden" and "One Day at a Time" with Kathy Peithman, soloist and Brenda Striggow, organist. Casket bearers were Dale Bowman, Ray Bauer, Elmer Rippe, Gaylen Cox, Bill Eickmann and Lawrence Reinke. Burial was in the Chester Cemetery, Chester, Neb. Adams-Tibbetts Funeral Home, Hebron, Nebraska, was in charge of arrangements.
