Description	:	Henry Baloun, son of Emil and Jennie Baloun, was born September 26, 1911 in Chester, Nebr., and passed way Nov. 20, 1969 at his home in Gilead, at the age of 58 years, one month and 25 days. He spent his early years near Chester, where he attended school. On December 23, 1933, he was united in marriage to Gladys Duey at Geneva, Nebr. Read More	Henry Baloun, son of Emil and Jennie Baloun, was born September 26, 1911 in Chester, Nebr., and passed way Nov. 20, 1969 at his home in Gilead, at the age of 58 years, one month and 25 days. He spent his early years near Chester, where he attended school. On December 23, 1933, he was united in marriage to Gladys Duey at Geneva, Nebr. To this marriage, two children were born, one daughter and one son. He and his family resided in Thayer County before and after he entered the service, except for two years spent in the western part of Nebraska. He entered the U.S. Army in March, 1944, and served until his Honorable Discharge in August, 1945. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Hebron. He was preceded in death by his father, Emil, and a sister, Evelyn. He is survived by his wife, Gladys; one daughter, Betty and her husband, Berwyn Petersen of Ruskin; one son, Carl and his wife, Ruth of York; his mother, Mrs. Emil Baloun of Chester; two brothers, William of Hebron, and Herman of Belleville, Ks.; one sister, Mrs. Eugene Ray of Hubbell; nine grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Mabel Duey of Chester; and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were held on Monday, Nov. 24, 1969 in the United Methodist Church in Hebron, with the Rev. Jay Schmidt officiating. Pallbearers were: Pete Taylor, Armin Dux, Delbert Culler, Elmer George, Norbert Heller and Jacob Wagner. Military services were conducted by the Hebron Legion Post 180. Interment was in the Chester Public Cemetery, Chester, Nebr. The Montgomery-Tibbetts-Cotter Mortuary of Hebron was in charge of funeral arrangements.
