Description	:	Death of Will Hoffman W. R. Hoffman dies last Sunday, after an illness of several months. He was a sufferer of heart trouble, and put up a strong fight to overcome the disease. Will Hoffman was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Michael Hoffman, pioneer resident of Michigan Bluff and Auburn.Will was born on the Forest Divide in 1858, and came to Auburn in 1869, and Auburn has since been his home. Will Hoffman was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Michael Hoffman, pioneer resident of Michigan Bluff and Auburn.Will was born on the Forest Divide in 1858, and came to Auburn in 1869, and Auburn has since been his home. Will Hoffman was a very likable fellow. He never faltered when called upon to assist a friend or neighbor, and he was always ready and willing to do his share in what endeavor he might undertake. Will Hoffman was a square man. His word was good. He was generous and wholehearted, and above all, he was good to his mother. As a fireman or lodge man, or as a member of anything else to which he belonged, he could always be counted on. Deceased is survived by three brothers, A. N. Hoffman of Auburn, J. S. Hoffman of Sacramento, and Frank Hoffman, who resides in Philadelphia. A niece, Mrs. John Spencer, and nephew, Henry Stevens, both formerly of Auburn but now of Oakland, and a nephew, George H. Hoffman, of Sacramento, also survive. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon from the family residence under the auspices of the Red Men, Great Prophet W. J. McDonald of Stockton, assisted by M. Z. Lowell, as Sachem, conducting the ceremony at the house and grave. The Auburn firemen acted as escort, and the following acted as pall bearers: Odd Fellows - Dave Jones, Sr., Henry Rose and A. L.
