The Rev. E.O.Potratz, pastor of the Zion Lutheran church, calling at the home, found Mr. Reese dead. Suffering a heart attack, he had rolled off a stool on which he had been sitting on the back porch, repairing something. Potratz of the Zion Lutheran church 2 p. m. Monday. Burial will be in the Kearney cemetery. Kearney Daily Hub, Saturday, June 20, 1942 EIGHT REESE CHILDREN William Reese, who died Thursday at his home 303 West 27th and whose funeral will be at 2 p m Monday from the Zion Lutheran church, leaves eight children a brother, George of Arapahoe, 47 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. The children are William, August, Frieda Jochem and Elsie Buchmann of Poole, Minnie Gerken of Kearney, Carl of Auburn Wash, Alvina Fiedler of Pleasanton, Louis of Davenport burial will be in the Lutheran cemetery at Poole. Kearney Daily Hub, Wednesday, June 24, 1942 Wm. Reese was born Dec 6, 1859 in Hanover, Germany and came to Columbus in 1873 at the age of 14 years. He was married to Emma Loseke in 1883 came to Poole in 1905 and in 1923 moved to Kearney. Mrs Reese preceded him in death last Nov. 23. On Thursday morning of last week June 18th the Lord come unto him at the age of 82 1/2 years 12 days. He leaves to mourn brother, George Reese of Arapahoe Nebr , and eight children, W. H. Reese, August Reese, Frieda Jochem, Elsie Buchman, all of the Poole vicinity. Minnie Gerken of Kearney who cared for her father. Carl Reese of Auburn, Washington, Alvina Fiedler of Pleasanton, Louis Reese of Davenport, lA. 47 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren Mr. Reese was an ardent worshiper in the faith of his Father and a loyal supporter of his church wherever he resided during his long life. Internment was made at the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery near Poole. The following grandsons were pallbearers Victor Fiedler, Leonard Fiedler, Robert Jochem, Bernard Buchman, Marvin Buchman, and Edward Reese.
