Description	:	W. S. McPherron, pioneer of Chelan Valley, having lived her continuously for the past 37 years, passed away at his home in Chelan Tuesday, April 5th, at 5 pm at the age of 78. Mr. McPherron had been failing in health for the past few years, although his last acute sickness was only of a few days. Plans are being made to hold the funeral Sunday. W. S. McPherron was born near Knoxville, Tenn., Dec. 31, 1848. At the age of two he, with his parents, moved to Iowa, where he lived until the age of 24. Here he received his education, finishing at the Methodist College at Glenwood, Iowa, where he lived for 12 years, being until in marriage to Lou Bertie Armstrong and moving back to Iowa in 1883. In the fall of 1890 they moved to Chelan where they have since made their home. Four children were born to this union. He is survived by his widow and 3 children, W. A. McPherron of Riverside, Ca., Mrs. Grant Sim of Peshastin, and Mrs. L. S. Morse of Chelan; also two brothers, Melvin McPherron of Ca. and Henry McPherron of Prosser, Wa. and one sister, Mrs. Caroline Utterback of Chelan. He passed away at his home in Chelan April 5th, 1927 at the age of 78 years, 5 month and four days. Mr. McPherron was united with the M. E. church in childhood and was a charter member of the Chelan M. E. church and an active member until failing health prohibited. The funeral services will be held at the M. E. church Sunday, April 10th, at 3 o'clock. All those who had the good fortune to know Mr. McPherron will kindly remember him, always a gentleman and always a Christian.
