William Tecumseh Clouse was born at Hopewell, in Bedford county, Penn., on July 22, 1856. On December 23, 1881, he was united in marriage to Miss Sarah Replogle. To this union were born 9 children: David of Squirrel, ID, Henry of Sumner, NE, Charles & Raymond of Stapleton, Reuben of Eddyville, Alice Austin of Callaway, Nettie Freeze of Sioux City , Iowa, George of Carpan, NV and Rose, who preceeded her father in death. William Tecumseh Clouse was born at Hopewell, in Bedford county, Penn., on July 22, 1856. On December 23, 1881, he was united in marriage to Miss Sarah Replogle. To this union were born 9 children: David of Squirrel, ID, Henry of Sumner, NE, Charles & Raymond of Stapleton, Reuben of Eddyville, Alice Austin of Callaway, Nettie Freeze of Sioux City , Iowa, George of Carpan, NV and Rose, who preceeded her father in death. The clouses moved to Tipton, Iowa in March 1882 and to Miller in March 1887. They later moved to a farm north of Sumner, where they lived for 32 years. In 1920 they moved in to town at Sumner. The Clouses had the rare priviilege of celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary last December. In 1876, he joined the German Baptist Church, which is now called the Church of the Brethren, after accepting Christ as his Savior, he has been zealous in working for his Lord. Through his life and testimony, he has been an inspiration and blessing to many. He joined the Evangelical Union church of Sumner appriximately 2 years ago. Many the blessed memories of this brother live on for all those who have known him.
