Description	:	Willis Carl Wegner was born to his loving parents Wilhelm F. G. "Willie" and Olga (Voegler) Wegner on Sunday January 23, 1916 at Scribner, Dodge County Nebraska. Willis attended Trinity Parochial School in rural Scribner. Willis studied at Boeing School of Aeronautics and later was employed at Douglas Aircraft in Santa Monica, Los Angeles County California. "Willie" and Olga (Voegler) Wegner on Sunday January 23, 1916 at Scribner, Dodge County Nebraska. Willis attended Trinity Parochial School in rural Scribner. Willis studied at Boeing School of Aeronautics and later was employed at Douglas Aircraft in Santa Monica, Los Angeles County California. Willis was united in marriage to Ina Benne on Sunday February 11, 1940 in Alameda, Alameda County California, they were blessed over the years of marriage with three sons. The couple moved to Bellevue, Sarpy County Nebraska in 1942 and Willis was employed by the Glen L. Martin bomber plant. Willis' crew built the Enola Gay, the aircraft that dropped the first atomic bomb. They moved to Cuming County in 1945 and in 1948 moved Scribner. The couple owned and operated this large dairy farm just north of Scribner. They operated a Stormor business from the farm too. Willis and Ina enjoyed 50 years of marriage. Sadly Willis passed at the Fremont Dodge County Hospital on Thursday December 6, 1990 at the age of 74 years, 10 months, 13 days which does not include his last day, he lived a total of 27,346 days. Willis' funeral service was held at St. Peter's Lutheran at 2p in Scribner with Rev. Donald Brunner officiating. Willis was a member of this church. Joan Wittmann was the organist and Ken Von Seggern the soloist sang "How Great Thou Art". Other music selections were "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" and "Heaven Is My Home". Willis was interred in the Scribner Municipal Cemetery. Spear – Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of his arrangements. Willis' information was provided from researching many resources and my memory.
