Willis Glenn Boggess was born December 11, 1895 at Dexter, Iowa and died May 9, 1970 at Clarinda, Iowa. He was the son of F. H. Boggess and Mae Clark Boggess. After a few years his family moved to Red Oak where he spent his boyhood. He graduated from Red Oak High School and attended Coe College at Cedar Rapids and served in the Army during World War 1. He married Ruth Fryer, October 23, 1923. Born to this union were two sons, Jim and Bob, both of Villisca. When first married they lived at Storm Lake, Iowa, where Glen became the owner of a shoe store. In 1927, they came back to this community and farmed moving into a new home in town in 1951. Glen continued to help with the farm operations until recent years. He was a member of the Villisca United Methodist Church, of the Masonic Lodge, and the Order of the Eastern Star, and the World War 1 Barracks. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth on November 6, 1966.Surviving are his two sons, his mother, now of Red Oak, a brother, Clark Boggess of Stockton, California; two sisters, Mrs. Mildred Robinson and Mrs. Grace Keasler both of Red Oak; and 13 grandchildren.
