Read More	THE PLAINVIEW NEWS; Plainview, Nebraska; Thursday, November 22, 1951 Young Man Loses Arm In Gun Accident Willis Flesner, 19 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Flesner, living between Foster and Pierce, was badly injured Saturday about 2 p.m. when a loaded shotgun discharged as he picked it up from the tractor he was using to haul corn from the corn picker. The charge of shot hit his left arm between the elbow and shoulder, breaking and badly shattering the bone. His father, who had just driven to the field in his car, rushed the injured lad to the Plainview hospital where local doctors gave him medical aid. Sunday afternoon he was taken by ambulance to a Sioux City hospital where his arm was amputated Monday. The accident happened at the Flesner farm, two miles south of the Stark Valley Church. Plainview News; Plainview, Nebraska; Wednesday, August 10, 1994; Willis H. Flesner, 62 Services will be conducted Thursday, Aug. 11, 1994, for Willis H. (Buzz) Flesner, Pierce, who died Monday at Lutheran Community Hospital in Norfolk. The Rev. Laura Bartels will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. services at the Stark Valley Methodist Church, south- west of Plainview. The Stark Valley Methodist Church Choir will sing "Beautiful Aisle of Somewhere" and "Swing Low Sweet Chariot" and the congregation will sing "How Great Thou Art." Shirley Hetrick will be organist. Burial will be at Prospect View Cemetery at Pierce. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 10 at the Stonacek Memorial Chapel in Pierce. Willis H. (Buzz) Flesner was born July 12, 1932, at Plainview to Ben and Tollie (Pierce) Flesner and died Aug. 8 at the age of 62 years and 26 days. He attended Antelope County Schools and Plainview High School. He lost his arm in a hunting accident in 1951 and then went to auto body school in Kansas City for one year. He was employed in Norfolk in an auto body firm but then farmed west of Pierce. He was married to Helen on Sep. 27, 1951, at Christ Lutheran Church in Pierce. He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy, in 1977, his parents, a brother, Edwin, in 1956, an infant sister and an infant brother.
