Description	:	The Funeral Service for Winifred "Winnie" Roth, age 87 of Bismarck, formerly of New Leipzig, will be held at 11:00am Thursday, March 10, 2011 at the New Leipzig Baptist Church. Pastor John Amundson will officiate with burial in the New Leipzig Baptist Cemetery. Special music will be provided by Floyd and Shirley Roehl. WINIFRED MILDRED MILLER was born November 25, 1923 on a farm south of Glen Ullin, ND to Charles and Elizabeth (Will) Miller. At an early age she began working on the farm and attended a country school near her home. As a young woman, she taught in a rural country school and then worked at the Grant County Courthouse in Carson where she did domestic work. Winifred was united in marriage to Milton Roth on December 7, 1941 in Montana. They purchased a farm south of New Leipzig, where together they farmed, ranched, and raised their family. In 1975, they moved into New Leipzig where Winifred worked at the New Leipzig Cafe for several years. Her husband passed away on January 17, 1990, and she continued to live in her home in New Leipzig until July of 2009. Since then, due to health reasons, she lived in various locations in North Dakota. She passed from this life on Monday, March 7, 2011 at the age of 87 years, 3 months, 12 days. Winifred's hobbies were quilting, sewing, reading, solving puzzles, playing and listening to music. She enjoyed her many lunches at Our Place Café in Elgin and her trips to the Prairie Knights Casino. Surviving family members include her son, Leonard (Opal) Roth, Washburn, ND; 3 daughters, Nina (Kenneth) Hawn, Scranton, ND; Peggy (Duane) Zarr, Cole Harbor, ND; Lutene Roth, and special friend, Ed Doll, Bismarck, ND; 6 grandchildren, Sherry (Mike) Deyo, Glenn Hawn, Toby (Ellen) Huber, Laurie (David) Willprecht, Dion Roth, Jessica (Paul) Lawson; 7 great grandchildren, Bret Deyo, David Willprecht, Katie Deyo, Elijah Lawson, Brooke Lawson, Madison Huber, and Trey Huber; 1 brother, Charles Miller, Glen Ullin, ND; and 1 sister, Jennis (Gus) Iachini, Tacoma, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Ervin Miller; and one grandson, Terry Hawn. Visitation will be Wednesday, 3:00 to 5:00pm at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Elgin and on Thursday one hour prior to services at the New Leipzig Baptist Church.
