Mr. Kelly passed away in December 1947. Survivors include three daughters, Gwen of Tampa, Fla.; Mrs. Gardner Taylor, Columbus, O.; and Mrs. Lee Clabaugh, Nelson; a son, Fred, Omaha; and a brother, Earl Jackson, Dallas, Texas. Funeral services are to be conducted at 2 o'clock Monday in the Methodist church here with the Reverend Harold J. Coates officiating. ========================================== The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, April 2, 1953; pg. 5 Winifred Jackson was born near Cadams, Nebr., on Dec. 15, 1894, the daughter of the late George and Cora Jackson. She died in the Superior hospital, on March 26, 1953, at the age of 58 years, 3 months and 11 days. She was graduated from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, Nebr., in 1916. Following her graduation and during World War I, she worked as a civil service employee in Washington, D.C. She taught schools at Hardy, Nora and Lincoln, Nebr. In September, 1920, she married Fred R. Kelly of Nora, Nebr. To this union were born four children. In 1937 they moved to Nelson, Nebr., where they resided for the remaining years of their lives. Her husband, Fred R. Kelly, preceded her passing December 16, 1947, after a long illness. "Winnie," as her friends called her, was an active member of the Methodist Church, P.E.O. and Bide-a-Wee. At the time of her death she was chairman of the County Red Cross drive. She always found time to extend many act of kindness to many people. She was an inspiration to her many friends and to her children. Mrs. Kelly leaves to mourn her passing four children: Gwen Kelly of Tampa, Fla., Mrs. Gardner B. Taylor of Columbus, O., Mrs. Lee Clabaugh of Nelson, Nebr; Fred R. Kelly of Omaha, Nebr.; and one brother, Earl Jackson of Dallas, Tex.; four grandchildren and a host of friends. The funeral services were held on Monday, March 30, at 2:00 in the Nelson Methodist Church with the pastor, Reverend Harold Coates, officiating. Orin Goodrich, Hastings, sang hymn selections. The pallbearers were H.H. Hite, G. Nelson Lyon, Clyde Lehman, Orval C. Myers, John Scroggin and Jas. F. Murphy.
