Born in Trout Dale, Va., he was the son of the late Eli Cleveland and Vina Comer Greear. A self-employed home improvement contractor, he was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Essex. He had worked at Glenn L. Martin for six years where he met his wife. He enjoyed boating, fishing and was interested in airplanes. Mr. Greear is survived by his wife of 56 years, Diza Richardson Greear; two daughters, Barbara S. Owen of Joppa and Belinda L. Pusey of Edgewood; three brothers, Estell L. Greear of Wilkesboro, N.C., Robert F. Greear of Shrewsbury, Pa., and Kyle W. Greear of Springfield, W.Va.; two sisters, Lena M. Hawkins of Forest Hill and Mary I. Martino of Virginia Beach, Va., five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Juanita Shenberger and Ruth Salazar. Pallbearers will be Michelle Dorsey, Holly Henderson, Julie Pusey, Jean Henderson, Ernie Pusey and Gilbert Owens, Jr. Services were held Monday at McComas Funeral Home in Abingdon with the Rev. Bill Farmer officiating. Interment was in Bel Air Memorial Gardens.
