Three children were born to this union, Mrs. Henry Weers, Mrs. Lawrence Schaffer and Ernest Dirks, all of whom survive their mother. Mr. Dirks died Aug. 21, 1941. Mrs. Dirks suffered a stroke six weeks ago and has been in a serious physical condition since that time at her home in Wayne township. She was a lifelong member of Zion church and took an active interest in its work.
