Description	:	Zadok C. Stephenson, the eldest son of Jerome B. and Henrietta L. Stephenson, was born near Shubert, in Richardson County, Nebraska, May 2, 1881. He passed away at the York General Hospital, August 23, 1960, at the age of 79 years, 3 months and 21 days. Death came unexpectedly following a heart attack. Stephenson, was born near Shubert, in Richardson County, Nebraska, May 2, 1881. He passed away at the York General Hospital, August 23, 1960, at the age of 79 years, 3 months and 21 days. Death came unexpectedly following a heart attack. As a young child, he moved with his parents to Lancaster County, Nebraska where he grew to manhood and received his education at the Crounce school. In 1900 the family moved to the farm southeast of Fairmont where he was engaged in farming with his father. Later he started farming for himself and in 1910 moved to his present home. On January 28, 1914 he was united in marriage to Eva D. Sweet. After marriage Mr. and Mrs. Stephenson established their home in Madison Township, which has continued to be the family home. To this union five children were born: Leslie and Robert of Fairmont; Darlene, now Mrs. Orville Hafer of Geneva; Jean, now Mrs. Frank Whitemore of McCool and John of York. Mr. Stephenson was a man of high ideals, great ambition, and unlimited energy. He is survived by his wife, Eva; son Leslie and wife Elsie, their children, Barbara, Lowell and James; daughter Darlene and husband Orville, their children, Richard, Donald, Douglas, Bruce, Susan and Brian; son Robert and wife Helen, their children, Garold, Edward and Rebecca; daughter Jean and Husband Frank, their children Sandra and Stephen; and son John and wife Rosemarie and their children, Stephen, Nancy Jacklyn and Debra; a brother, David Wells Stephenson of Casper, Wyo.; a sister, Mrs. Albert Martin of York, Neb.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter-in-law, Violet Mae Stephenson and a grandson, Michael John Stephenson. Zed, as he was known to his family and friends, was a good husband, a kind father, a loving grandfather, a worthy neighbor and much loved within his own household.
