Zelma Fields went to Hazel Dell and Windfall schools in Tipton County. She attended Hazel Dell Friends Church and was later a member of West Street Christian Church in Tipton. She was member of the Moose, American Legion Auxiliary, Rebecca Lodge of Tipton, VFW of Evansville and the Christian Brother and Sisterhood of Arcadia. Jim Sublett and his mother, Jenny Sublett lived with Zelma for 31 years. Zelma raised Jim as her own. His mother, Jenny, died at Parkview Nursing home, Elwood, IN on March 1st, 1980. Zelma's and Ruel's daughter, Helen Louise Good, was born January 31st, 1922. Zelma also married December 24th, 1938, to Ernest Simmons wo was born September 13th, 1895. Ernest died December 22nd, 1957. Ernest worked at the Tipton Fire Department and at the Oaks Manufacturing Company in Tipton. He and Zelma had no children from their marriage. Zelma also married Don Clouse on April 23rd, 1963. Don was born July 18th, 1894, in White County, IN. Don died April 18th, 1980 in Lafayette, Tippecanoe County, IN and was buried April 21st, 1980 in Royal Center Cemetery, Royal Center IN, Don was a farmer in Tipton, County, IN most of his life. He was the son of Rubin and Rosie Clouse. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias for 60 years and belonged to the Rebecca Lodge and the Lions Club. 10/07/2011 Tipton Tribune Zelma L Clouse, 97, died at 10:36 a.m. Saturday at Miller's Merry Manor in Tipton. Born August 13th, 1903 in Hazell Dell near Windfall, she was the daughter of Frank and Maude (Bragg) Fields. She married Ernest Simmons December 24th, 1938, and he preceded her in death. On April 23rd, 1963 she married Don Clouse, and he also preceded her in death. She did practical nursing in her home for many years and was a member of the Tipton Church of the Nazarene. She also belonged to the West Street Christain Church and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Women of the Moose, and Academy of Friendship. Surviving are two grandsons, Stuart Lockwood of Evansville, and Jim Sublett of New Trenton; and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Helen Lockwood; as well as six brothers and seven sisters. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Leatherman-Morris-Boyer Funeral Home in Tipton. The Reverend John Utterback will officiate and burial will be in Tiptons's Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. today. Funeral services for the late Mrs. Florence (Brown) Good, wife of Ruel Good of Hobbs, were conducted in the Christian church at Hobbs Tuesday morning at 10 'o'clock and were largely attended. Many Tipton people were present at the services the deceased having many friends here. The flowers sent and brought, by friends were in: abundance and many persons accompanied the remains to their final renting place in Fairview cemetery. Rev. Guy Hoover, a former pastor of the Tipton Christian church conducted the services. 6/16/1925 Tipton Tribune Entertained for Daughter Mr. and Mrs. George Bragg and daughter Fern, of Windfall, entertained a bunch of their children, the event being in honor of their daughter Mattie, who is now the wife of W.R. Walker of Anderson. She and her husband and her son Eldon and wife and daughter Genieve Ruth, are planning to leave in about two weeks for Florida to make their home. All enjoyed a very nice basket dinner. In the afternoon ice cream was served to all. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. W.R. Walker and Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Hood and daughter, all of Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. A.G. Smith of Kokomo, Mr. and Mrs. Marble Snyder and daughters Helen and Moriedu and son Marble, Jr., of Sharpsville, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Smith and son Bobby, of Kokomo, Mr. and Mrs. John Bragg and sons Chester, Leslie, Richard and Robert Max, of near Kokomo, Mamie, Donald, Sharlene, Garnet and Hershell Fields of Hazel Dell, Miss Katherine Write, of Windfall, and Tom and Tean Rush of Martoisville. The afternoon visitors were Frank Bragg and wife and son Kenneth, of Herbst, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Bragg and daughter Evelyn, of Marion, and granddaughter of Frank Bragg, Ruel Good, of Hobbs. The evening caller was Reverend Hendrixson, who is pastor of Hazel Dell Friends church. Everyone left late in the evening saying that Mr. and Mrs. Bragg were good entertainers. Mr. and Mrs. Bragg enjoyed the day very much, although they are in poor health. Mrs. Bragg is bothered with neuritis of the face, but was little improved, although not able to do much of her work. Her granddaughter, Zelma Fields, is assisting her. Mr. Bragg is 81 years old, and get around pretty well for one of his age.
