Description : Christ Church Lothersdale was built and consecrated in 1838, after years of discussion between the Parishioners of Lothersdale, the Vicar of Carleton and Christ Church Oxford. The cost of building the church was about £800, with the cost of furniture and consecration taking this to £1000. Due to the destitute condition of the population, funds were generously donated by Rev Levett, Vicar of Carleton, the land given by the Earl of Burlington.
