Description	:	This chapel was built in 1811 and burials at this Chapel took place between 1811 and 1837. The half-acre site was purchased for £130 and the chapel cost £700 to build. The chapel first minister was the Rev. William Jones. Slater's Trade Directory for 1903 states that the chapel could seat around 450 persons but in 1812 the return of members, which at the time embraced neighbouring towns, was 174 persons. Slater's Trade Directory for 1909 states that it could seat around 300 persons. In 1932 the Wesleyan Methodists joined with the Primitive Methodists and the United Methodists to form the Methodist Church of Great Britain. The building on Two Trees Lane has not been used for worship since 2011 after it was vacated by the congregation. The chapel has become increasingly dilapidated, with part of the roof collapsing in July 2020 following a fire. Four two-bedroomed apartments with a bathroom and additional en suite are now to be built on the site. The development must begin within three years. There had been concerns about the protection of the gravestones at the site under the redevelopment plans. Documents show these will be preserved, but moved to the rear of the site as part of the conversion proposals. The Wesleyan Sunday School, across the road, was built in 1877 and it incorporates a number of foundation stones that are now severely eroded. These are located at the corners of the front elevation and below the two windows. They were laid on the 30 March 1877, by Mr Enoch Moores, and a Mrs James Brown of Bolton the latter being a memorial stone, a Mr Joseph Wilcockson, and a Mr George Shaw, and a Miss Lever of Bowdon. On the 28 August 1915 a porch was built in front of the entrance of the Sunday School incorporating the seven foundation stones.
