Description : The Owen Family Cemetery is on the grounds of the Norbeck Country Club, between the clubhouse and the tennis shop. The land originally belonged to Reverend Robert Owen, who was sent to Maryland from Scotland to report to his parishioners on the condition of the colony. He returned to Maryland in 1699 and purchased the large tract of land, where he built a home he named "Contentment." The property remained in the hands of the Owen family until 1900.
