Mr. Dykstra was a member of the First Christion Church, where he was a former member of the choir; Fleming-Jackson-Seever American Legion Post No 6 and Veterans of Foreign Wars, all of Atchison He was formerly active in Junior Achievement. On Aug. 20, 1950, he married Barbara Moore in Atchison. She survives of the home. Additional survivors: a daughter, Diane Dykstra, Atchison; three sons, David, Wichita, Kansas, Kevin, Emporia, Kan., and Mike, Lakin, Kan.; a sister, Geraldine Bidding, Atchison; two brothers, Bill and Toby, both of Atchison; and five grandchildren. Service: 11 a.m. Monday, Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home, Atchison. Burial Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery, Atchison. Family visitation; one before the service, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to his church or the athletic program of the Atchison High School care of the funeral home.
