Geraldine was born April 22, 1935 in Atchison, the daughter of William and Gladys (James) Dykstra. She graduated from Atchison High School in 1953. Geraldine worked for Mall Drugstore for 20 years, retiring in 1971. She was a member of Sacred Heart and the Sacred Heart Quilting Guild. Geraldine was born April 22, 1935 in Atchison, the daughter of William and Gladys (James) Dykstra. She graduated from Atchison High School in 1953. Geraldine worked for Mall Drugstore for 20 years, retiring in 1971. She was a member of Sacred Heart and the Sacred Heart Quilting Guild. She was a Girl Scout leader for 15 years and taught CCD classes for 13 years. Geraldine enjoyed quilting and reading. She married Louis Bidding on Dec. 27, 1954 in Atchison. Mr. Bidding survives of the home in Atchison. Additional survivors include a daughter, Nancy Ann Whiting, Olathe, brother, William Dykstra, Atchison and two grandchildren. Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Aaron L. and Wallace Toby Dykstra. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 24, 2012 at Sacred Heart Church with Fr. Gerard Senecal, OSB, as celebrant. Mrs. Bidding will be cremated following the service and burial of cremains will take place at a later date in Sunset Memory Gardens.
