Description	:	Wheeler Webster died at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Tuesday, January 3, 1928 following a surgical operation. He was born in Ripley County, Indiana in March 1852, being nearly 76 years of age at the time of his death. Being the oldest in his family Wheeler was compelled to go to work at an early age, however he obtained a common school education, and made the most of his opportunities. Read More	Wheeler Webster died at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Tuesday, January 3, 1928 following a surgical operation. He was born in Ripley County, Indiana in March 1852, being nearly 76 years of age at the time of his death. Being the oldest in his family Wheeler was compelled to go to work at an early age, however he obtained a common school education, and made the most of his opportunities. At the age of twenty he started out for himself, renting land in Indiana, which he farmed until 1883, when he cam to Buffalo County, Nebraska. Here he rented for several years, later purchasing land, and by his good industry and good management he became the owner of considerable real estate. Mr. Webster was a man of genial disposition and had many friends who will regret to learn of his death. He was a member of Gibbon Lodge No. 138, Knights of Pythias. For two years Mr. Webster had been in poor health, and as a last hope surgery was resorted to, but in his weakened condition he was unable to rally and passed away a few hours later. Mr. Webster was married in March 1873 to Miss Rachel Young also a native of Indiana, and they became the parents of five children, Carl of Gibbon, George C. of Shelton, Herbert, Chester and Mrs. Clyde Scott all of Gibbon. All the children with their bereaved mother survive. Funeral services will be held at the Presbyterian church this (Thursday) afternoon at 2:30. Interment in Riverside cemetery.
