Description	:	Benjamin Franklin Webster was born on the farm of his father Thomas Webster near Olean, Ripley County, Indiana. He attended the common schools and on July 7, 1878 married Miss Ida Gelvin of the same community. In 1886 they moved to Buffalo County Nebraska, and with the exception of a brief time spent in California, has since been their home. Read More	Benjamin Franklin Webster was born on the farm of his father Thomas Webster near Olean, Ripley County, Indiana. He attended the common schools and on July 7, 1878 married Miss Ida Gelvin of the same community. In 1886 they moved to Buffalo County Nebraska, and with the exception of a brief time spent in California, has since been their home. Six daughters and one son were born to this union, Miss Pearl Webster and Mrs. I.E. Scott of Los Angeles, California; Mrs. D.W. Maddux and Mrs. George Campbell of Long Beach, California; Mrs. Ben Griffin and Charles Webster of Sharon Township; and Mrs. E.R. Winslow of Kearney. Mr. Webster was one of a large family of whom four brothers and three sisters survive. Messrs William, Harrison and Wheeler Webster, and Mrs. Jacob Johnston of this vicinity, Corbin Webster, Kearney, Mrs. Indiana Huntington, Olean, Indiana, and Mrs. Adeline Cunningham, Los Gatos, California. Mr. Webster had not been well for about a year. He went to California about a year and a half ago, thinking the change might be beneficial. But the damp climate there brought on diabetes, and he was obliged to return. He was a man of hopeful disposition, and even after his return worked as much as his strength would permit about the old Dwight Thatcher place which the son Charles, with whom he made his home, had rented and had many plans for the improvement of the same for the family. He was taken with the prevailing epidemic of the grippe and passed away at his home in Sharon township, Wednesday, February 14, 1923. Frank Webster was a good neighbor, and honest man and a faithful friend. His life was clean. He was a home man and found his choicest company and greatest satisfaction there. The funeral was held from the Presbyterian church, Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Oliver C. Johnson officiating. The interment was in Riverside Cemetery where both Father and Mother are buried. The Gibbon Reporter February 22, 1923 Page 1, Column 2
