Adam Krumroy was born July 4, 1847, in Sumner county, Ohio. During the year 1876, he left his home state and came to Iowa, settling on a farm in Jones county, four miles north of Mechanicsville. The following year he married Miss Lydia Kohl of Jones county and for 32 years they labored together on the farm homestead until their removal to Mechanicsville in 1908. During the years of the deceased residence in town, he took a deep interest in the local Methodist, church of which he was not only a faithful member, but a trustee and active worker, as well. Mr. Krumroy was interested in local affairs and was one of the organizers of the Trust &, Savings Bank. He was a kindly man, friendly under every condition and circumstance, and it was his desire to be helpful to all. Two years ago his health began to fail and he was compelled to give up the usual activities of life. With patient loving care, his devoted wife and children ministered to him in his affliction and they never heard a word of complaint from him. But with Christian fortitude and patience he lingered on awaiting the call to his heavenly home. On Wednesday last, this loving husband, and father passed out into the dawn of that eternal day, where there is no night, no shadows, no distress, to he with. his savior whom so loyally served. Mr. Krumroy was 79 years and 5 months old. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, five daughters and three sons. As follows: Mrs. Bert Humbert, Cedar Rapids: Mrs. J. A. Kohl, Mechanicsville: Mrs. David Minish, Iowa City: Mrs. Ira Hempy, Mrs. Arthur Vanderbilt. Mechanicsville; Frank, Edward and Kenneth, Mechanicsville Fourteen grandchildren also survive him. The kindness and assistance of friends and neighbors during our bereavement is greatly appreciated. The floral offerings, the songs by the quartet were especially comforting.
