Read More	* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * OBITUARY KENNETH KRUMROY Kenneth Krumroy youngest son of Adam and Lydia Krumroy, born on a farm 5 miles north of Mechanicsville, in the Brookside neighborhood, Jones county, Iowa, August 31, 1900. His childhood education was received in the Hazel Hill district school. He graduated from Mechanicsville High School in 1919 and the following year was spent in the Iowa State College in Ames. He was married to Alberta Stoffel June 22, 1922. To this union were born four children, two having died in infancy. They lived in Mechanicsville until 1929. Then they moved to Belle Plaine for 9 months where he was employed in a bakery. They then moved to Marengo where he bought a bakery, living tere for five years. In 1935 he came to Mechanicsville where he bought the restaurant which he operated until his death. He was killed in an accident Easter Sunday, March 24, 1940. Left to cherish the memory of the departed loved one are his wife, their two sons, Kay Don, age 8 and Wayne, age 7, five sisters and one brother: Clemma Humbert of Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Gertie Minish of Iowa City;. Mrs. Grace Hempy of Lisbon; Mrs. Ida Kohl, Mrs. Pearl Vanderbilt, and the one brother, Frank Krumroy of Mechanicsville. His father and mother and one brother preceded him in death. Mr. Krumroy was a member of the masonic Lodge of Marengo, No.114. Popular in the social and business life of the community, he leaves a wide circle of friends and business associates to mourn his sudden and untimely departure. His devotion and great love for his wife and children will leave many precious memories of a kind and honored husband and father, who will be greatly missed, as the lonely wife and mother carries on alone. He Is Just Away I cannot say, I will not say That he is dead ~ he is just away. With a cheery smile and a wave of the hand He has wandered into an unknown land, And left no dreaming how very fair It needs must be since he lingers there. And you, 0, you, who the wildest yearn For the old ~ time step and the glad return; Think of him living on as dear In the love of there as there as the love of here; Thinking of him still as the same, I say, "He is not dead ~ he is just away."
