Parr, 61. Rev. William Fitzgerald will officiate. Parr died Sunday morning in the West Point hospital. He was born Dec. 13, 1915, in Dodge and had lived in Scribner since 1938. He retired last year after 35 years as the Standard Oil Distributor for the Scribner area. Parr was a member of the Holy Name Society and was active in baseball. He was a pitcher for 25 years in the Dodge County League, Elkhorn Valley League, Pioneer Night League and Mid States League. He managed Junior Legion baseball in Scribner for several years and served on church council. He was a member of the Scribner Chamber of Commerce and served on the Scribner City Council. Parr married the former Betty Moser, June 4, 1938 in Hooper. She survives. Other survivors include sons, Ronald of Greensboro, N.C., Gary of Omaha and Roger of Fremont; daughter, Mrs. Roger(Mary) Grunke of Scribner; brother, Joe of Rock Island, Ill., John of Omaha, Raymond of Portland, Ore., and James of Scribner; sister, Mrs. Rudy (Mayme) Busch of Howells; and 11 grandchildren. A rosary will be said Tuesday by the Holy Name Society at 7:30 p.m. and a rosary will be said at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Visitation will begin at 7 tonight at Spear Funeral Home in Scribner. Memorials have been established to St. Lawrence Catholic Church or the Scribner Rescue Squad. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery at Ridgeley. Moser Memorial Chapel of Fremont is in charge of arrangements.
