Description	:	Albert Lewis Lott was born to Isaac Newton Lott and Lucretia Flansburg Lott on March 21, 1899, in Clay County near the town of Verona, and passed away on May 25, 1986, at the Fillmore County Hospital in Geneva at the age of 87 years, 2 months and 4 days. Read More	Albert Lewis Lott was born to Isaac Newton Lott and Lucretia Flansburg Lott on March 21, 1899, in Clay County near the town of Verona, and passed away on May 25, 1986, at the Fillmore County Hospital in Geneva at the age of 87 years, 2 months and 4 days. He was one of eight children in the family. When Albert was one year of age, the family moved to Fairmont to a farm north of town where they resided for 16 years. Upon the passing of his father, Albert's mother purchased a different farm south of town. Albert attended grade school in Rural District 26, and graduated from the Fairmont High School in 1917. Upon graduation he returned to the farm to help his mother and the family with the work on the farm. Albert was married to Florence Thulin on January 20, 1920, and to them, twin sons were born, Morris Isaac and Norris Anton. Following the birth of the children, Florence was in ill health, and passed away on September 25, 1920. On October 1, 1927, he was married to Gertrude Peters Lusk. To this union were born two daughters, Lois and Barbara. Also joining the family was a step-daughter to Albert, Wynona Lusk. Albert or "Ab" as his friends called him, dearly loved the farm and the life that went with it. For some a hobby is necessary to take their mind off their work, for Ab, the farm and the work that went with it was his hobby. Tending the fields and feeding cattle were a joy that was never thought of as work. His time and talents were shared with the community also. He served on the school board and the elevator board for many years. He was active in his church, and served on the church board. He was a member of the Exeter Feeders and Breeders Board. Albert left the farm and moved to town in 1974. He enjoyed his family and many friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers and two sisters. Also preceding him in death was his son, Norris Anton, who passed away on July 13, 1929. He is survived by his wife, Gertrude of Fairmont; son Morris of Sutton; two daughters, Mrs. Lois Schultz and her husband, Wayne of Lincoln and Barbara Slaybaugh of Fairmont, a step-daughter, Wynona Lusk of New Albany, In.; brother Floyd Lott of Fairmont; four granddaughters and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted from the Fairmont Community Church on Wednesday, May 28, with the Rev. Norman Kauble officiating. Mrs. Marvin Swartz accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Roland Hall, who sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "The Old Rugged Cross." Interment was in the Fairmont Cemetery with David Bristol, Earl Frazier, Lavern Holtmeier, Ralph Keil, Claude Lefler and Cecil Swartz serving as pallbearers.
