Anderson of the Stratford Lutheran Church. Mrs. Art Larson and Mrs. Matt Hotchkiss sang: "Shall We Gather at the River," a favorite of the departed, in the home, accompanied by Mrs. Will Holstrom, and "Rock of Ages," and "Abide With Me," in the church accompanied by Mrs. Lloyd Angstrom. Interment was made in the Hardin Township Cemetery, with the following serving as casket bearers, O.K. Erickson, Harold Fohlin, Glen Johnson, John Eckstein, Harold Benson and Paul Fohlin. Albert Sackrison, son of John and Johanna Sackrison, was born January 20, 1866, in Hardin Township, Webster County, Iowa, and departed this life Oct. 12, 1956, at the age of 90 years, 8 months and 22 days. The farm where he was born had been his home during his entire life. His devout parents brought the children early to the Lord in baptism. His religious training was provided through the South Marion Methodist Church, of which his father was a lay pastor for some time. His secular education came through the local district school, which he was later school director for 11 years. When a young man he worked with a railroad construction crew at the time the railroad was built west of Stratford. For more than ten years he operated a horsepower threshing machine on a threshing run. On Feb. 20, 1896, he was united in marriage to Carolina Israelson and to this union were born three children: Edna, Carl and Clarence. They established their home on his father's farm, where he continued in the industry with his sons as long as he was able. He always had the interest of the church at heart and his family was brought up in its nurture baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church, his wife's church preference, which he attended regularly with them. His wife passed away in 1950 and since that time he had made his home with his son, Carl, and family to cared for him tenderly and patiently during the evening years of his life for which he was grateful and appreciative. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Emily, Mary (Mrs. J.A. Carlson), Hannah (Mrs. Victor Gabrielson), and four brothers, Otto, Gustaf, John Edward and Charles William. He is survived by a daughter, Edna, of Fort Dodge, and two sons, Carl and Clarence, of this community; three granddaughters, Carol, Charlene, and Shirley; two grandsons, Larry and John; and two nephews, three nieces, and other relatives and friends. He was a kind and loving father and always had the best interest at heart for those near and dear to him. A close friend of his grandchildren, he shared their interests from day to day. To those who knew him he was a loyal neighbor and friend.
