Pelland CLYDE — Albert S. Pelland, 84, Clyde, died Monday, Oct. 16, 1989, at St. Joseph Hospital, Concordia. Mr. Pelland was born Oct. 8, 1905, at Morganville and lived most of his life in the Clyde-St. Joseph area. He farmed in the Clyde and St. Joseph communities until 1937, when he moved to Clyde and was employed at the Clyde elevator. He later worked for Centel in Concordia until retiring in 1958. He was a member of the St. John the Baptist, Catholic Church, Clyde. Survivors include his wife, Leda of the home; four sons, Patrick of O'Fallon, Ill., Daniel and Denis, both of Fort Worth, Texas, and Thomas of Long Beach, Calif.; five daughters, Maura Garguilo of Castro Valley, Calif., Rena Girard of Kirkwood, Mo., Elaine Salsbury of Junction City, Ann Fraser of Hebron, Neb., and Judy Gerwig of Sutton, W.Va.; a sister, Emma Racette of Clyde; 33 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde, the Rev. John Walsh officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. A rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. today at the Chaput Mortuary, Clyde. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. today at the funeral home.
