Pelland on Jan. 10, 1899, at St. Joseph. She lived many years on a farm in the St. Joseph and Clyde community and moved to Clyde in 1959. She was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde, Catholic Daughters of America, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, and the Royal Neighbors of America. Racette, 94, Clyde, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 1994, at the Park Villa Care Home, Clyde. Mrs. Racette was born Emma V. Pelland on Jan. 10, 1899, at St. Joseph. She lived many years on a farm in the St. Joseph and Clyde community and moved to Clyde in 1959. She was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde, Catholic Daughters of America, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, and the Royal Neighbors of America. She was preceded in death by her husband, Delphos in 1989; and an infant son, Eldon. Survivors include three sons, Ronald and Wilbur, both of Clyde, and Romanus of Lamed; two daughters, Darlene Weatherhead of Clyde, and Jean Weatherhead of Concordia; 23 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde, the Rev. Barry Brinkman officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, St. Joseph. A vigil will be at 7:30 p.m. today at the Chaput Mortuary, Clyde. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church Restoration Fund. Blade-Empire – January 10, 1994 Emma V. On Feb. 24, 1924, she was married to Delphos Racette at St. Joseph. He died Oct. 3, 1989. She lived many years on a farm in the St. Joseph and Clyde community and moved into Clyde in 1959. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic church in Clyde Catholic Daughters of America, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and Royal Neighbors of America. Survivors include three sons, Ronald Racette and wife Maxine and Wilbur Racette and wife Virginia, all of Clyde, and Romanus Racette and wife Shirley of Lamed; two daughters, Darlene Weatherhead of Clyde, and Jean and husband Dean Weatherhead of Concordia; 23 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. In additional to her husband she was preceded in death by an infant son, Eldon; her parents; and two brothers. The funeral was this morning at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde, with Father Barry Brinkman officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery, St. Joseph.
