He lived his entire life in Clay County where he died Oct. 18, 1957, while leading the Plotique Parade. He was engaged in farming at the time of his death. He had been in ill health off an on for the past ten years. He was married to Ora M. Chestnut, Oct. 20, 1912. To this union were born seven children, four girls and three boys, the oldest of whom, Hazel Margaret, died May 27, 1923, at the age of nine years. He was also preceded in death by his younger brother, Loyal. He is survived by his aged mother and father; two brothers, Charles (Dick) Craig and Earl Craig; three sons and three daughters, Harry E. Craig, Varney R. Craig, Beulah A. Thompson and Marcelle L. Krefting, all of the Puget Sound area in the state of Washington; Charles W. Craig of the United States Army and Adria L. Herrmann of Huntington, Ind. Also there are 16 grandchildren, one niece, four nephews and other relatives. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. E. A,. Coates of Manhattan, Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 22 in the Peterson-Neil Chapel. The music was provided by the funeral home. Nephews of the deceased were pall bearers and interment was in Greenwood Cemetery.
