Description	:	BREWSTER _ Alice Julia Manicke Grover, 78, of Brewster, died Monday, April 6, 1992, in the Harmony House Convalescent Home. She was born Oct. 15, 1913, to Frank and Jesse Bell (Gebbers) Manicke, at Pateros. They moved to Noxon, Mont., where she attended school through the eighth grade. She moved back to Pateros with her family, and graduated from Pateros High School in 1932 as valedictorian of her class. She then attended the University of Puget Sound at Tacoma for two years. Read More	BREWSTER _ Alice Julia Manicke Grover, 78, of Brewster, died Monday, April 6, 1992, in the Harmony House Convalescent Home. She was born Oct. 15, 1913, to Frank and Jesse Bell (Gebbers) Manicke, at Pateros. They moved to Noxon, Mont., where she attended school through the eighth grade. She moved back to Pateros with her family, and graduated from Pateros High School in 1932 as valedictorian of her class. She then attended the University of Puget Sound at Tacoma for two years. She moved to Brewster in 1935 and worked for Gambles Mill. She married David Grover on Nov. 26, 1935, at Wenatchee. They moved to Renton in January 1943, where she continued to do the bookwork for Gambles Mill at her home. They returned to Brewster in September 1945. They opened Grover's Cabinet Shop in March 1949. It was later renamed Grover's Building Supply. Mrs. Grover operated the store until her death. She was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church at Brewster. Survivors include her husband, at home; two daughters, Betty Lundell of Federal Way and Judy Precht of Pateros; three brothers, Charles and Bob Manicke, both of Pateros and John Manicke of Wenatchee; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by Barnes Chapel at Brewster.
