She is survived by her husband, Frank Manicke, four children, Alice, age 15; Charlie, age 12; John, age 5; and Robert age six months, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gebbers, two sisters Maude Gebbers and Mrs. Bill Underwood both of Pateros and brother John Gebbers now living in Brewster, three uncles, Carl Gebbers of Tacoma, George Gebbers of Pateros, Reuben Gebbers of Spokane, other relatives and a host of friends. Mrs. Manicke's early childhood was spent in Nebraska and Missouri where the famly lived until they came to Pateros when Mrs. Manicke was twelve years old. She grew to young womanhood in Pateros and attended the local school and church. At the age of nineteen she married Frank Manicke and lived in Pateros about two years later moved to Noxon, Montana, where the family lived until they moved back to Pateros this last summer. Her health had been poor for several years and she had been in a hospital in Spokane just before her return to Pateros, but her health had been improving this fall until both herself and her family were taken with flu. Mrs. Manicke has always loved this country and longed to come back here to live and she had been very happy that they were able to come back here where she could be near her relatives and friends. She was a loving mother and wife extremely fond of her children and untiring in her home work and efforts for her family. She was a quiet kind thoughtful person, and loved by all who knew her. Her vacancy in her home can never be filed and she leaves a beautiful memory with her family and her friends. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Pateros from the Methodist church with burial in the Pateros Cemetery. The pall bearers were Chester Tupper, Hebert Grover, Robert Dunbar, Tracy Otto, Sart Otto and Wm Holt, all former school mates of Mrs. Manicke.
