Alice was born in Waterville, WA to Charles and Annetta Osborne. Marney June 17, 1928 ~ August 9, 2015 Alice June Marney passed away peacefully on August 9, 2015, at Colonial Vista in Wenatchee, WA. Alice was born in Waterville, WA to Charles and Annetta Osborne. After graduating from Waterville High School as the class of 1946’s Valedictorian and Princess Waterville, she married Keith Marney and had four children. Alice lived a life of service with Keith. Her passion for children, family and learning was evident in all those she taught to play the piano, ski, skate and swim. She was an amazing homemaker, caregiver, chef, baker, music maker, story teller, baby rocker and very proud Nana. She served the Federated Church as organist and accompanied the choir for several decades. For the community of Waterville, she was a member of the Planning Commission, Manager of the City Pool, taught private piano, skiing, and skating. She was the Secretary and Office Manager for the North Central Washington Fair. Alice and Keith proudly shared the honor as Waterville’s Citizens of the year in 1979. After retirement, Keith and Alice moved to their family built home near 25 Mile Creek on Lake Chelan. Her love of family was evident in how they always shared their home with many friends and relatives. A crowded kitchen, sleeping bags everywhere and evenings with family on the deck overlooking the lake, were some of her favorite things. Bringing the picnic table inside to add to the already oversized dining table was very common at their home on the lake. Keith and Alice loved to travel and one adventure was to gather genealogical facts from original sources and then re-tell the stories that came from those historical facts. She loved to be active and around friends and family: Ski trips, ice skating parties, a trip to the races, trips to Reno and all family celebrations. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Annetta; her husband, Keith; brothers, Albert and Roy; sisters, Virginia Nelson and Mable Knowles; and granddaughter, Shae Walker. She is survived by sister, Elsie Tittle; children, Greg (Debi), Debbie (Al) Bigelow, Dean (Susan), and Mark (Barb); eight grandchildren, Heather, Spencer (Rebecca) Meinzer, Brooke Meinzer, Blythe (Joe) Buchan, Dylan (Katie), Luke, Nate (Megan), and Sam; Four great-grandchildren, Brice and Devin Walker and Jed and Caroline Meinzer. There are many nieces, nephews, and in-laws in her extended family. Per Alice’s request, a Private Family Celebration of Life will be held. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org. Arrangements are assisted by Telford’s Chapel of the Valley.
