Those who will miss her most are her daughters: Jane and Irma; four grandsons; three sisters: Elizabeth, Alice, and Francis; one brother: Rex; a sister-in-law; other relatives and many, many friends. Memorial services were held at the Kramer Funeral Home, Mankato, Friday, September 18, 1987, at 2:00 p.m., the Pastor Cindy Watson Drennen officiating. Burial in the Prairie Home Cemetery at Esbon. Casket bearers were: Carl Sapp, Pat Smith, George Burgess, Richard Burns, Kenneth Johanek, and Raymond Griffith. (Newspaper and date not recorded for this obituary clipping. ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: Alma was most widely known for operating a restaurant in Esbon, Kansas through the 1950s and early 1960s. It was a family operation with her two daughters. Alma was very personable and cheerful, and created a nice environment for the customers. Alama’s first job after she finished school was working in the Esbon telephone office as an operator. She did that for eight years before she was married. She then worked in a restaurant, after which she and her sister Alice opened the A and A Café in Esbon. She later was the sole owner and manager of the main restaurant in Esbon.
