Description	:	Alonzo Nixon, son of Samuel and Rachel Nixon, was born Nov. 29, 1854 near Utica, Van Buren Co., Iowa and died at his home in Harrisburg Township, June 9, 1921 at the age of 66 years, 6 months and eleven days. On Sept. 12, 1876 he was united in marriage to Alice Adeilia Klise of Utica, Iowa who survives him. Read More	Alonzo Nixon, son of Samuel and Rachel Nixon, was born Nov. 29, 1854 near Utica, Van Buren Co., Iowa and died at his home in Harrisburg Township, June 9, 1921 at the age of 66 years, 6 months and eleven days. On Sept. 12, 1876 he was united in marriage to Alice Adeilia Klise of Utica, Iowa who survives him. To this union were born eleven children, Nettie E., of Indiana Harbor, Ind., John, of Joseph, Ore., Bert and Ferd of Idaho, Sam of Harisburg Township, Lee who died May 25, 1915, Lloyd of Ottumwa, Orlie and Rex of Bonaparte, Merle of Fairfield and Vern, who resides at home. Six grandchildren and four brothers, Moses, George, and Ezra, of Kansas, and Julius of Stockport, Iowa. Also a host of friends and relatives are left to mourn his loss. He was an honest, industrious man, good neighbor and loyal citizen. His sudden death was a shock to the entire community. As a neighbor remarked, "his friens were humbeled by his acquaintances." Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Utica Baptist church in charge of Rev. J.S. Coppoc. The remains were laid to rest in the Dibble cemetery.
