Casebier** Alpha Guy Casebier, Dallas, Pa., a former Emporia area resident, died Thursday in a hospital in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., He was manager of a nursing home in Wilkes-Barre for the past two and one-half years. He owned and operated the Hillcrest Nursing Home near Admire for 12 years and also operated a nursing home in Burlington for two years. He was formerly a Santa Fe employee in Emporia. Funeral services will be held at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home in Emporia at a time to be announced later. Alpha Guy Casebier was born Sept. 30th, 1918, in Admire, the son of Guy and Marie Renner Casebier. He married Murna Hanes on Sept. 20th, 1953, in McPherson. She survives, and lives at 6 South Mechanic St. Other survivors include his mother, Marie Casebier of Reading; four sons, Floyd Casebier, Jacksonville, N.C., Robert Casebier, 2 South Mechanic St., Jacob Casebier, 114 Constitution St., and William Casebier, Burlingame; four daughters, Colleen Smith and Pat Rucas, Wichita, Doris Milan, 12 South Neosho St., and Diane Hull; one brother, Jack Casebier, Reading; seven sisters, Jimmie Sells, Reading, Wanda Hopper, Houston, Texas, Betty Smith, Noxen, Pa., Carol Trebbe, Osage City, Jan Schrock, 1910 Rural St., Jeanette Gregory, Oregon, and Zola McCarthy, Denton, Texas; and 21 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one step-son, George D. Barrett and one brother, Gene Casebier. Mr. Casebier was a member of the Reading Baptist Church, the Lebo Masonic Lodge, and the Scottish Rite Consistory and Arab Shrine in Topeka. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
