Mrs. Casebier owned the Santa Fe Trail Care Center in Burlington and the Hill Crest Nursing Home in Miller, working until her retirement in 1975. Murna Gladys Hanes was born Aug. 20, 1913, at Concordia, the daughter of Thomas Robert and Emma Rozetta Fick Hanes. She married George H. Barrett at Emporia. They divorced in 1952. She married Alpha Guy "Casey" Casebier on Sept. 20, 1953 at McPherson. He died Nov. 10, 1977. Mrs. Casebier was a member of the Church of God Prophecy, Emporia, and the Corinthian Chapter No. 181 order of the Eastern Star, Burlington. Mrs. Casebier is survived by four sons, Floyd Casebier, Jake Barrett, Robert Barrett and Bill Barrett, all of Emporia, two daughters, Colleen Smith of Wichita and Doris Milam of Americus, 20 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, George Dwayne Barrett, a granddaughter, Debra Smith; and 16 brothers and sister. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Patio Garden at Memorial Lawn Cemetery. The Rev. Leonard Wagner will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. A service will be conducted by the Miriam Chapter No. 14 Order of the Eastern Star of Emporia. Memorial contributions can be made to the H. Dale Buck Fund or the Order of the Eastern Star.
