Description	:	ALVIN LITTLE, eldest son of Hugh & Mariah Stiffler Little. was born in New Philadelphia, Ohio, July 8, 1849 and passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs Guy Dudney of Des Moines, July 29, 1935 at the age of 86 years and 21 days. He came with his parents in 1865 and settled on a farm near Prairie Grove, Iowa. Read More	ALVIN LITTLE, eldest son of Hugh & Mariah Stiffler Little. was born in New Philadelphia, Ohio, July 8, 1849 and passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs Guy Dudney of Des Moines, July 29, 1935 at the age of 86 years and 21 days. He came with his parents in 1865 and settled on a farm near Prairie Grove, Iowa. They lived there a short time and then moved to the neighborhood six miles northeast of Murray, On December 25, 1870, he was united in marriage with Frances M. Bennett and to them were born seven children, one son and six daughters. During the revival at the Union Church several years ago he was converted and united with the church. In 1920 he moved to Murray and on April 28, 1923 he was called upon to give up his companion in death. He continued to make his home in Murray until failing health compelled him to live with his children. This he did, making his home with his daughter, Mrs. Guy Dudney in Des Moines since 1932. He leaves to mourn his loss; five daughters, Mrs Ella Van-Osdol of Nash, Oklahoma, Mrs Jennie Isenberger of Murray, Mrs Frances Fazel of Osceola, Mrs. Ida McDaniel of Morning Sun and Mrs Rena Dudney of Des Moines; 10 grandchildren - 8 great grandchildren and three sisters - Mrs John Agans of Albia, Iowa and Mrs Margaret Day and Mrs Gen Browns of Murray. All but one daughter, Mrs Ella VanOsdol were present at the funeral. His son, Arthur and his daughter Lillian Rinner preceded him in death . Funeral services were held at Union Church - Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock conducted by Rev. M.D. Cox. Interment was made in the Union Cemetery.
