Mrs. Zihlman was born Sept. 21, 1906 in Washington County, the daughter of Charles and Lucy Frain Armstrong. She married Lloyd Bekel Sept. 23, 1925. He died Nov. 11, 1965. On Aug. 16, 1974, she married Lloyd Zihlman, who died Feb. 21, 1982. She lived most of her life in Jefferson County, was a member of First Lutheran Church and Rebekah Lodge. She had worked as a cook at Woody's Steak House and the Fairfield Golf and Country Club. She is survived by a son, Leonard Bekel of Brighton; two daughters, Thelma Eckwall and Velma Keller, both of rural Fairfield; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Florence Berg of Fairfield and a brother, John Howard Armstrong of Milwaukee, Wis.
