Description	:	Daughter of John F. Frane and Mary Jones Frane (sic. Frain; the death record entry was somewhat altered at some point) per her 1917 Jefferson county Iowa death record. Wife of Charles Howard Armstrong. Both died of pneumonia/influenza within three weeks of each other. Of the surviving children, daughter Florence was put under foster care (legal adoption ??) of George Neal and his wife Bessie Kyle Neal. To whom the other children were placed with is not known to this contributor at this time. Any information about their foster care would be appreciated. --------------------- Fairfield Daily Journal Monday March 5, 1917 Pg. 2 Col. 2 BOTH PARENTS TAKEN WITHIN THREE WEEKS The saddest chapter in a sad story was recorded today when Mrs. Lucy Armstrong, who, for the past week has been critically ill at the Jefferson County Hospital died. She passed away at 10:20 a.m., having succumbed to pneumonia. Just three weeks ago her husband Charles Armstrong died of the same disease at the Hospital. Three of their children have also been critically ill with pneumonia, and were just today able to be removed from the Hospital. Four small children survive their parents, Howard, age 14, Florence, age 12, Marie, age 11, and Ina, age three years. Before her marriage to Mr. Armstrong in Brighton fifteen years ago, she was Miss Lucy Frain. The funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at eleven o'clock from the Baptist church in charge of Rev. A. R. Toothacre.
