Description	:	CASBURN, AMORET—Amoret Garrett was born to Thomas and Ellen Nelson Garrett, September 19, 1883, at Bostwick in Nuckolls county Nebraska. She passed away August 4, 1971, at the Fillmore County hospital in Geneva at the age of 87 years, 10 months and 16 days. She received her education at the Keifer school near Bostwick. In 1900 Mr. and Mrs. Garrett with their family of nine children took a homestead near Tees, Alberta, Canada. Read More	CASBURN, AMORET—Amoret Garrett was born to Thomas and Ellen Nelson Garrett, September 19, 1883, at Bostwick in Nuckolls county Nebraska. She passed away August 4, 1971, at the Fillmore County hospital in Geneva at the age of 87 years, 10 months and 16 days. She received her education at the Keifer school near Bostwick. In 1900 Mr. and Mrs. Garrett with their family of nine children took a homestead near Tees, Alberta, Canada. Here she made her home until 1911 when she returned to Nebraska where she was united in marriage with Harold Casburn, June 5, 1912. Her husband preceded her in death May 12, 1952. Also a step-daughter, Emily McKibben, preceded her in death January 16, 1949. The family lived for a few years near Burress, and then moved to a farm near Ulysses in Seward county. In 1945 they moved to Geneva which has since been her home. She is survived by her children, Mildred Sole, Barbara Dailey, Peggy Waltemade, all of Geneva, and Roberta Braden of Crete; a step-daughter, Grace Stofer of Geneva; a sister, Mrs. Esther Liggins of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many friends. Funeral services were held Saturday, August 7, at 10:30 a. m. at the Farmer-Harris funeral home in Geneva with Rev. Delano Spitzer officiating. Mrs. Alvin Rizer sang “A Closer Walk With Thee” and “Beyond the Sunset” accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Willard Foster. Pallbearers were grandsons, Alfred Andrews, John Braden, Joseph Dailey, Harold Sole, Keith Sole and Melvin Whiteley. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery beside her husband.
