Born in Scotland, Howieson came to Montana in 1907 and had been employed by the railroad about three years, previously being engaged in this area as a coal miner. He followed the coal mining trade all of his life until recent years. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Robert P Howieson of Havre, a brakeman for the Great Northern, and Jack Howeison, recently discharged from the army but not yet home; a daughter, Mrs Pete Felice of Hollister, CA; and three grandchildren.
