'Ann' Elizabeth YORK, age 22, daughter of Richard YORK II and Ann SEYMOUR is most likely to have married Solomon ALLRED I, age 30, in 1710 in England per Allred researcher Dennis YORK. The late Dawnell H Griffin, Allred researcher, suggested they were married in about 1712 in West Nottingham, Chester County Pennsylvania, British Colonial America without any documented proof, but appears most likely without conflicts to known facts of the births of their four children. However, the YORK and ALLRED Genealogist since 1968, Dennis YORK holds a slightly different but significant timeline scenario. There is evidence that Solomon ALLRED I, age 30, probabley married in 1710 in England to 'Ann' Elizabeth YORK, age 22, daughter of Richard YORK II and Ann SEYMOUR. Their first child Solomon ALLRED Jr. is proposed to be born in England in 1712. Likewise their second child Elizabeth ALLRED is proposed to be born in England in 1713. This is a logical exploration of the five year birth gap between the second and third Allred child, William ALLRED, 1718 PA. This provides a likely window when these two families immigrated together to British Colonial America in about 1715 - 1717. Ann Elizabeth YORK is the special youngest sister of Jeremiah YORK and their families were very close friends first in England. Most likely Jeremiah YORK I having just lost his first wife in England on 1714 had a new opportunity to voyage to America with his young son John David YORK along with his younger married sister Ann Elizabeth YORK ALLRED. This would include her two young children, Solomon ALLRED Jr., 1712 England, and Elizabeth ALLRED, 1713 England plus his new brother-in-law Solomon ALLRED I. (Refer to Note 1* below for this alternative scenario for a slightly different timeline of the above events) According to the West Nottingham Tax District as reflected first in the 1724 Tax Lists, the Solomon ALLRED I family and the Jeremiah York family lived in Chester County, Pennsylvania until about 1730 or 1732. The Governors of Pennsylvania and Maryland both attempted to collect taxes from the residences in West Nottingham claiming West Nottingham was in their state. Lack of a resolution lead to troubling unrest among the residents. Arrangements for transportation to leave their homes in West Nottingham to avoid this conflict began a mass exodus. Between 1730 thru 1732, large migrations westward took place. This is a reasonable possibility based on the fact that Solomon ALLRED I and Jeremiah YORK I were listed side by side in the 1724 Tax list of West Nottingham, Chester County, Pennsylvania. It is suggest that the YORK and ALLRED families left Chester County traveling together in the same wagon train. It is likely these two families lived on either side of the Potomac River during the 1734-1755 time period. The Jeremiah YORK families lived on the high platto of Terrapin Neck on the western shore of the Potomac River in Frederick County, Virginia.The ALLRED families are believed to have lived on the Eastern shore of the Potomac River in Western Frederick County, Maryland. Both of these families lived just off the Great Wagon Road from Philadelphia that was the main travel and trade route in those colonial days as defined by the Jefferson and Fry Maps. These same YORK and ALLRED families and their descendants also settled in 1746 - 1755 in the Sandy Creek Community of colonial Orange County (Now Randolph County), North Carolina living on adjacent land grants on Sandy Creek and Mount Pleasant Creek. The four children of Solomon ALLRED and Ann Elizabeth YORK are believed to be: 1. Solomon ALLRED II, b. 1712 England; d. 1757 NC 2. Elizabeth ALLRED, b. 1713 England; d. 1737 MD 3. William ALLRED Sr., b. 1718 PA; d. 1770 NC 4. Thomas ALLRED I, b. 1725 PA; d. 1810 NC Background Notes: 1*. The four known children of Solomon ALLRED and Ann Elizabeth YORK were believed to be born in West Nottingham, Chester County, Pennsylvania by Dawnell H Griffin. Some Allred researchers including Dennis York are convinced of a slightly different but significant timeline scenario that Solomon ALLRED I, age 30, is believed to have married in 1710 in England to 'Ann' Elizabeth YORK, age 22, daughter of Richard YORK II and Ann SEYMOUR. Their first child Solomon ALLRED II is proposed to be born in England in 1712. Likewise their second child Elizabeth ALLRED is proposed to be born in England in 1713. This scenario may explain the five year birth gap between the second and third child William ALLRED, 1718, of Solomon ALLRED I and his wife Ann Elizabeth YORK. 2.
