Harr The Chronicle - Thursday , February 22nd, 1912 - Anna Barbara Sittan Luft, of Germany and pioneer resident of Odebolt and Sac county, passed the divide at the home of her sister, Mrs. G.J. Freese, in this city Sunday morning. Death came to her in her eighty second year and was from pneumonia. On the 21st day of September, 1829, she was born in Germany and there grew to young womanhood, marrying in 1854 Caspar Luft, a young Teuton. Together they came to America in 1862 and located in Illinois. In 1880 they came to Sac county and lived in and near Odebolt during the remainder of their lives. Mr. Luft died some two years ago and the remains of the widow were laid by his side, in the German Reform Cemetery in Clinton township. The funeral was held Tuesday at one o'clock from the Freese home, conducted by Rev. Jacob Christ. She is survived by one son, Geo. Luft, of this city; three daughters: Mrs. L.W. Schramm of Clinton township, Mrs. G. Freese of Odebolt, and Mrs. John Mehlbrecht of Monroe, South Dakota; forty-five grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. Mrs. ? of this city is her sister-in-law. Many friends of the family in Odeboldt extend their sympathy.
