Description	:	Peter was the son of Casper & Barbara Luft. He married Anna Reutzel on 2 Jun 1889 in Reform Church Clinton Township Sac County, IA by Pastor W. Diehm. They were the parents of Elizabeth, Anne, John, Gustav, Iva, Peter, Amelia, Authur, Milton, Lloyd and Lucille. The Odebolt Record - Wednesday , February 7th, 1906 - Peter Luft, accompanied by his wife and Dr. Farquhar, of Early, went to Carroll last Wednesday to be operated on for tumor of the lower lip. Dr. Wright was to perform the operation and got the patient ready and placed him on the operating table. Mr. Luft had a terrible dread of the operation and five minutes after being placed on the operating table was a corpse. One of the sisters at the hospital administered the anesthetic and before he was completely under its influence, Dr. Wright noticed that his pulse had stopped beating and quickly called more assistance. They worked over him for half an hour but could do no good for life had departed suddenly. Weak heart action was partly the cause of death but fear of the operation seemed to be the principle cause. The corpse was taken to Early last Thursday and buried Saturday from the German Reformed church. Deceased was 38 years old and leaves a wife and nine children. Peter Luft was a brother of Mrs G.J. Freeze of this place.
