Obituary The Scribner Rustler January 14, 1970 Mrs. Anna Schulenberg Services are Held Services for Mrs. Anna Kroeger Schulenberg, 90, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hooper. She died Friday, Jan. 9, in the West Point hospital. Rev. James Stoeckel officiated and burial was in St. John's Cemetery north of Hooper. Wollmer & Warne Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Music was by the congregation with Miss Linda Schulenberg, a granddaughter, as organist. Pallbearers were Eldon, Roger, and Dennis Schulenberg, Thomas Sass, Alen Johnson, and Lawrence Knepper. Mrs. Schulenberg, a lifelong resident of the area, was born Oct. 25, 1879, near Hooper. She was baptized, confirmed, and was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Hooper. Married to John Christian Schulenberg, Jan. 14, 1903, the couple then farmed north of Hooper until moving to Scribner in 1943. She was preceded in death by her husband who died April 8, 1951. Mrs. Schulenberg was a resident of the Scribner Good Samaritan Center, having moved in July 23 as the third resident. She previously lived at the Lutheran Old People's Home in Omaha, and the Dodge County Hospital Annex. Survivors include sons; Leonard, Racine, Wisc. and Edgar of Hooper; daughters, Mrs. Harold (Lorene) Sass, Longmont, Colo. and Mrs. Edmund (Verona) Luebke of Papillion, one brother, Harry Kroeger, Fontana, Calif., 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
