Description	:	Obituary The Hooper Sentinel February 2, 1911 Christian Kroeger was born Dec. 20th, 1844, at Mechlenburg, Schwerin, Germany. He came to this country in 1867 locating that same year on a farm 1« miles north of Hooper, where he resided until a year ago when he purchased his residence in East Hooper. He was married to Miss Sophia Rogensock Oct. 1, 1869. Besides the widow, he leaves three sons and three daughters. They are; Herman of Denver, Colo., Fred and Harry of Hooper and Mrs. Anna Schulenberg, Mrs. Linda Havekost(1), and Mrs. Lizzie Rabe(1) all of Hooper. They are; Herman of Denver, Colo., Fred and Harry of Hooper and Mrs. Anna Schulenberg, Mrs. Linda Havekost(1), and Mrs. Lizzie Rabe(1) all of Hooper. He also leaves two sisters, two brothers and a large number of friends in Hooper and vicinity who extend their heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family. Deceased had been a sufferer for the past two months and three weeks ago was taken to the Fremont hospital where he passed away Jan. 30, 1911, at 11:30 p.m., cause of death being inflamation of the liver. His wife and son, Fred, went to Fremont earlier in the day having received word that his condition was serious and were with him until the last. The remains were brought to Hooper Tuesday evening accompanied by his wife and son. Mr. Kroeger has been a resident of the county for some 44 years. He was a man highly esteemed by all who knew him, honest to the penny in his dealings, a loving husband, a kind father and man who's friendship was valued by all. He has passed on but his many acts of kindness will not be forgotten by his many friends. Funeral services will take place from the late residence at 1 o'clock Friday followed by services at the M.E. Church, Rev. H. C. Jul Frese, officiating.
