Description	:	Anna Elizabeth Moravec Vrana was born on a farm in Saunders County, near Morse Bluffs, Nebraska, on May 20, 1896, only daughter of John Edward Moravec and Anna Magdeline Svadlenka Moravec. When she was 6 yers old, the family moved to a farm near Bee, Nebraska. In 1912 they moved to Exeter, Nebraska, where her father opened a family-operated General Merchandise store. Read More	Anna Elizabeth Moravec Vrana was born on a farm in Saunders County, near Morse Bluffs, Nebraska, on May 20, 1896, only daughter of John Edward Moravec and Anna Magdeline Svadlenka Moravec. When she was 6 yers old, the family moved to a farm near Bee, Nebraska. In 1912 they moved to Exeter, Nebraska, where her father opened a family-operated General Merchandise store. She attended both Midland College in Fremont and York Business College in York, Nebraska. On October 15, 1917, Anna was married to Emil B. Ruzicka and they started their married life on a farm near Bee, Nebraska. They were blessed with a daughter, Ruth Mildred. Mr. Ruzicka was filled in a farming accident on August 26, 1923. On February 16, 1924, Anna was married to John W. Vrana, a widower with one son, Theodore Warren, two years of age. To this union were born four children, Linsfred L., Donald Wayne, who died in infancy, Doloros Maxine and John Wesley. John and Anna were active in farming in Seward County and Cheyenne County, Nebraska, until they moved to this community in June, 1942. Anna was a member of the Senior Citizens and was honored by the United Methodist Church for over 50 years of active membership. John and Anna observed their golden wedding anniversary on February 16, 1974. John died on September 4, 1974. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant son; two brothers, John J. and Frank E. Moravec; two grandsons, Douglas Allen Giger and Bruce Allen Vrana; a son-in-law, Thomas E. Appleton. Surviving here are her children and their spouses, Ruth and Elmer Giger of Superior, Theodore and Muffy Vrana of Lincoln, Linsfred and Nancy Vrana of Denver, Colorado, Doloros (Vrana) Appleton of O'Fallon, Illinois, and John and Norma Vrana of Phoenix, Arizona; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and numerous other relatives, many nieces and nephews and their families and friends of all ages. She was a concerned, loving mother who always placed the welfare of the family uppermost in her decisions. Anna was considered a friendly, generous neighbor and friend who was a good cook, shared her kolace and garden produce with them. She will be remembered for her encouraging, friendly words to the residents and employees at the Nelson Good Samaritan Center for the past eight years. Anna will be missed by her family and friends. Anna passed away on December 20, 1991, at the Good Samaritan Center in Nelson, Nebraska, at the age of 95 years and 7 months. Funeral services were held Thursday, December 26, 1991, at 10:30 a.m. from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior, Nebraska, with Rev. Jerry Heydenberk officiating. Music was provided by David Watters, soloist, singing "In The Garden" and "How Great Thou Art" with Carlita Price as organist and accompanist. Casketbearers were Tim Watters, Keith Shoeck, Adrain Moravec, Scott Watters, Rick Miller and Richard Kubalek. Honorary pallbearers were Joe Vrana, Paul Vrana, John Vrana II, Warren Vrana, Craig Vrana, Don Vrana and Verlon Vrana. Graveside services were held at 3:00 p.m. in the Seward Cemetery near Seward, Nebraska. Megrue-Price Funeral Home of Superior was in charge of the arrangements.
