Violet was born May 11, 1912 on a farm north of Wilcox in Phelps County, Nebraska, the eldest of three children of Wilhelm and Ethel (Johnson) Abrahamson. Read More	Anna "Violet" Louise Grove, passed away, October 1, 2006 in Holdrege, Nebraska. Violet was born May 11, 1912 on a farm north of Wilcox in Phelps County, Nebraska, the eldest of three children of Wilhelm and Ethel (Johnson) Abrahamson. Violet was a lifetime member of the Fridhem Lutheran Church in Funk, Nebraska, where she was baptized, confirmed and at the time of her passing was the eldest living member of the congregation. She received her primary education at Wilcox Public School and then graduated from Holdrege High School with the class of 1930. She then pursued higher education at the Luther College at Wahoo, Nebraska and then attended Kearney State College to receive her teaching certificate. Violet then taught in rural schools in Phelps County until her marriage. On September 5, 1937 she was united in marriage to E. Dale Grove in the parsonage of the Fridhem Lutheran Church in Funk and to this union four children were born: Ruth, Ronald, Phyllis and Lee. The family made their home on a farm north of Funk, where Violet assisted Dale on the farm and focused on raising the children. Following retirement the couple moved into Holdrege in 1977 and enjoyed traveling together. On September 20, 1987 she was preceded in death by her husband, Dale. In December of 2005 she moved to assisted living at Holdrege Memorial Homes. Violet enjoyed the friendship bonds formed in various clubs throughout the years, active with the Phelps County Senior Center, enjoyed tending to her garden, especially her flowers which she shared with many friends, family, the church and anyone that was in the hospital or nursing home. She loved to follow her grandchildren and neighborhood children with their sporting activities. She leaves to mourn her passing her two daughters: Ruth Warren of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Phyllis DeWald and her husband, Ray of Delmont, South Dakota; one son, Lee Grove and his wife, Grace of rural Axtell, Nebraska; seven grandchildren: Steve Warren, Rob Warren and his wife, Beth, Philip White and his wife, Jackie, Tim White and his partner, Howie Lazar, Becky Kindschuh and her husband, Benjamin, Kathy Grove and Cindy Grove; three great-grandchildren: Kelsey White, Jace White and Megan Kindschuh; one brother, Roger Abrahamson and his wife, Margery of Funk; two sisters-in-law, Laurene Abrahamson of Holdrege and Evelene Louthan of Montesano, Washington; several step-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her husband, Dale she was preceded in death by her son, Ronald at the age of four of leukemia; parents; brother, Paul Abrahamson; two sons-in-law: Joe Riddle and John White; brothers-in-law, John Grove and his wife, Helen, DeForrest "Dutch" Grove and his wife, Louise, Elmer Louthan and Jack Grove; and a niece, Joyce Abrahamson.
