Kirchhoff, daugahter of Peter and Anna Meyer Heitmann, was born Dec. 28, 1892, in Nuckolls County, NE. and after an illness of more than one and one half years passed away Dec. 6, 1948 at the Broadstone Hospital, Superior, Ne., at the age of 55 years, 11 months and 8 days. She was baptized at St. Peter's Lutheran church Jan. 8, 1893, by the Rev. Mr. Gertel, and after taking confirmation instruction, she was confirmed in the same church March 24, 1907, by the Rev. F. Shardt. On October 6, 1911, she was united in marriage to John D. Kirchhoff. They made their home on a farm near Byron. Her husband died July 22, 1936, and an infant son, preceded his mother in death June 10, 1915. Mrs. Kirchhoff is survived by five children, Arthur of Red Cloud, Martin of Superior, Edgar and Lawrence of Byron, NE. Mrs. Betty Hokenkamp of Deshler, one son-in-law, four daughters-in-law; seven grandsons, five granddaughters, her mother, Mrs. Anna Heitmann; four brothers, Albert and Fred of Byron, Louis of Hardy, the Rev. George of Welcome, MN. three sisters, Mrs. Dick Kirhhoff of Athol, KS. Mrs. Ed Tietjen of Superior, Mrs. John Duensing of Byron; a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services held Thursday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church. obit submitted by Kenneth E. Holmes.
